So much of our story is cosmic, poetic, and filled with the divine love we share for one another.
Thanks to Hinge, we first met for a date at Café Gratitude on Sunday, December 17, 2023. We talked for hours, and at the end of the date, David gave me a hug. In that moment, he felt a warm, colorful, powerful vibration energy in his heart—something he had never experienced before. To this day, he always places his hand on his heart and says, “I just felt it so deeply right here.” That feeling still stays with him.
On December 25, we exchanged a sweet “Merry Christmas” text, along with a silly video I sent David about cracking open a durian fruit. I’ll let David tell you all the details.
But somehow, the timing wasn’t quite aligned for us to be together just yet.
As fate would have it, on October 25, 2024, David texted me. He happened to be on Kauai for a conference, where I had just arrived a few days earlier—on the exact flight route I had taken just days before.
The moment I received his text, I knew. I felt it in my heart. A little voice inside said, “It’s on.”
When David pulled up outside the 1 Hotel, we walked through the corridor together. As we walked, I had this profound realization—this is what it feels like to walk with an equal.
Seven hours later, after watching a breathtaking sunset, talking, and deeply connecting, we walked up from the beach to Welina, their beautiful Japanese restaurant, for a little dinner. At the table next to us, a woman was trying to take a photo. I offered to help, and in return, she wanted to take one of us. As I walked over to David on the couch, I whispered, “Let’s pretend that we’re boyfriend and girlfriend.”
And that became our very first photo together.
That fateful evening, as we walked back down the corridor—this time with the knowing of walking beside an equal—David gave me a hug that I will never forget.
As he pulled me into his arms, a giant comet whooshed past his head. All I could say was, “What was that?” And David said, “I saw it!”
He had caught sight of it in the reflection of the car window behind me as he turned.
It was profound. It felt like a nod from all the angels and guides, whispering: “Ele, don’t miss this one.”
The day David landed on the island, I had a conversation with my mom. It was a Wednesday. I was sharing a story about a channeled reading I had years ago with Deborah Kolander.
As I was leaving my session, Deborah turned to me and asked, “Do you want to know the name of your husband?”
Laughing and curious, I said, “Of course I do.” She said, “His name is David, and he’s a Director.” That Wednesday, as I spoke with my mom, I said “Where is this David, the Director? He’s never shown up.”
Little did I know—on that exact day, he did finally show up.
And he was a Director. A Design Director.
As our story unfolded, we spent countless hours talking, connecting soul to soul, heart to heart, discovering so many incredible coincidences. One of the most astonishing? David had also been in the jewelry industry for 16 years. We had even stayed at the exact same hotel multiple times during the annual jewelry show in Las Vegas. I vividly remember seeing him years ago, struck by his presence. I can recall it like it was yesterday—exactly where I was, where he was standing, and watching him walk through the hotel lobby.
After the most magical days together on Kauai, David had to return to LA. I knew I would be on the island for the next three weeks, and I couldn’t imagine waiting that long to see him again. I asked if he would come back.
And he did.
We dove to the depths of love together, coming into the profound awareness that this—this love—is what we had both been waiting for.
On the full moon, Saturday, November 16, 2024, we got engaged. In the exact same spot where we had our first Kauai date—at our special little table at Welina.
There has always been an inner knowing within me that my beloved was coming. And when he arrived, I would know.
